BitterSweet Partnership has been lucky enough to get one of Britain’s top chefs, Allegra McEvedy, to create the perfect Christmas dinner menu. Allegra, who you may have seen recently on BBC2’s Economy Gastronomy, has designed a delicious three course Christmas menu that incorporates a variety of scrumptious beers in every delectable course.

Well-made beers are a great source of flavour, just like stock and have a variety of tastes that make them perfect to cook with. This is my take on a classic Christmas menu: it raises the bar a couple of notches, whilst being comfortably cookable. I’ve always been a fan of properly made beer, both the drink and as an ingredient in the kitchen.Beer gives a much lighter finish than the usual heavier alcohols associated with Christmas cooking – a very refreshing change indeed.
